Where does the name Truffls come from?

The name comes from Truffles, those rare, delicious and expensive mushrooms served at top restaurants. They are hard to find as they grow underground. Here at Truffls experts show you those special web pages that usually remain buried in the web.

Is Truffls free?

Yes, Truffls is totally free for all users. Doesn't matter if you just want to search for quality content or if you want to make an expert profile and recommend web pages.

How do I know I can trust the experts at Truffls.com?

People who want to share their knowledge on a specific subject can sign up freely at Truffls.com. They make a profile of their experience and a link to this profile appears under every bookmark they make. So you can always check out the background of the person that made a bookmark. The more people use the bookmarks of a specific expert, the higher his or her ranking. In case of spam or false profiles, users can send us an email through the contact page to report it. We will then personally look into it.

Who are you guys?

I, Luca Merlini, am Dutch, 28 years old and live in Brazil, Campinas with my lovely wife. I met her while travelling through Thailand and decided to follow her home. In Brazil I worked as an independant English teacher, invested in hot startup called La Vita and started Truffls.com with my Brazilian business partner Dario Gargaglioni. He's 32, art director and lives with his wife and son in Campinas as well. He has developed many great web sites for companies like Johnson & Johnson, Nestle, Pepsi, Axe, Itau, etc.

Do I need to sign up to find experts and the sites they recommend?

You don't need to sign up. All content on Truffls is free for all. But if you want to recommend web sites on a specific topic, you'll need to become an expert, sign up and make a personal profile. To do so, click on "Become an Expert" at the top of the page.

What's a bookmark?

A bookmark on Truffls is a link to a specific web site that's recommended by one of our contributors. Contributors, which we call experts, add a short description of the recommended link so you can see if it's relevant for you. You can use "Search Bookmarks" to find bookmarks recommended by all contributors or first look for relevant experts with "Search Experts" and then access their bookmarks.

I get an error message when I try to perform a specific task. What do I do?
