Profile: I'm a procurement analyst at a fast food chain in California. Some of my family members and friends own small and medium sized businesses and I regularly see them paying too much, contracting bad suppliers, etc. Purchasing at a big company is different from small and medium sized companies, but many principles are the same. For a small business it makes a lot of sense to buy furniture, electronics, etc through Craigslist or Ebay, but that's not a good practice for a fortune 500 company. I hope my list with recommended sites are useful to those who want to learn about purchasing and want to find handy online tools and market places.
